CBA extends Apple Pay to business card holders

Offering an easy, secure and private way to pay.

As part of our continued commitment to becoming a simpler, better bank and providing the best digital banking experience for our customers, Apple Pay is now available to Commonwealth Bank business card holders.

The extension of Apple Pay to include business cards gives more CBA customers access to an easy, secure and private way to pay, that’s fast and convenient.

Since the introduction of Apple Pay, CBA has seen an increase in mobile payments use by 400 per cent.

Clive van Horen, Executive General Manager of Business Customer Solutions, said: “Following the commitment we made to Commonwealth Bank customers in January, I’m excited to announce that Apple Pay is also available to business card holders from today.

“We are extending Apple Pay to business customers because they asked for it, and it’s part of our commitment to listen to our customers, put their needs first and take action to become a simpler, better bank. Delivering simple, intuitive digital payment solutions that provide choice and convenience, will continue to be a key focus for us in 2019,” van Horen said.

About Apple Pay: Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorised with a one-time unique dynamic security code. Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by CBA credit and debit cards. With iPhone and Apple Watch, customers can pay with Apple Pay in stores, restaurants, taxis, vending machines and many more places. When shopping in apps or on the web in Safari with Apple Pay, there’s no need to manually fill out lengthy account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information. Every Apple Pay purchase is authenticated with just a glance or a touch with Face ID or Touch ID, or a device's passcode. For more information on Apple Pay, visit:
