CBA extends emergency assistance package in Queensland

Commonwealth Bank extending emergency assistance for customers affected by severe weather in Queensland.

Commonwealth Bank is extending its existing Tropical Cyclone Debbie emergency assistance package to include Queensland customers affected by the severe weather conditions.

Commonwealth Bank is also waiving fees for customers using other banks’ ATMs to withdraw cash.

CommInsure teams are taking advantage of the latest technology to help support customers.

Helen Troup, Managing Director, CommInsure said: “Our technology allows us to identify calls coming from the affected areas so customers can be routed directly through to our call centre as a matter of priority. We have also texted our general insurance customers in the affected areas alerting them to our customer care line and fast-track online claim form should they need to make a claim.”

On the ground, CommInsure is also lending a hand.

“We are sending extra assessors and claims managers to the area to provide additional specialist local support for customers. We also have CommInsure preferred builders on stand-by to assist our customers with ‘make safe’ and emergency repairs. We want to make it as simple as possible for our customers to get back on their feet and have streamlined our claims approval process to allow immediate approval by the builder while on site for simple claims.” Ms Troup said.

“We know these are trying times for our customers who must, of course, focus on their own physical safety as their first priority.  When they are ready and able to contact us, either at our branches, online, or by phone, we will be there to help.”
