CBA the first Australian bank to offer Amazon Locker

CBA offers Amazon Locker

Receiving online purchases has been made even more convenient for Australian shoppers, with Commonwealth Bank the first Australian bank to offer Amazon Locker.

Commonwealth Bank has made lockers available at a number of Sydney branches as a value-add to customers.

Amazon Locker is a self-service kiosk that gives customers the option to pick up their Amazon parcels from a location convenient to them. Shipping parcels to an Amazon Locker at a participating CBA branch is easy, secure and available at no additional cost. During checkout, customers can select a locker at a CBA branch as their shipping address. Once their package is ready for pick up, customers will receive an email along with a barcode that they will use to pick up their package 24/7.

Commonwealth Bank Group Executive Angus Sullivan said the latest CommBank Retail Insights Report shows technology solutions such as smart lockers give consumers the choice they’re after with delivery services.

“In the lead up to Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas trade, we know many of our customers are jumping online to do their shopping. Our latest Retail Insights Report shows consumers want more control over their deliveries, with 67 per cent of customers rating choice as an important factor, while 49 per cent felt fast and flexible delivery times were essential.

“We have the largest branch network in Australia and we’re thrilled to work with Amazon to deliver innovative technology-led solutions to our customers that help make their lives easier,” Mr Sullivan said.

Amazon Locker is currently offered at the following locations with the potential to expand the service in the future:

  • Bankstown City Plaza
  • Bondi Beach
  • Bondi Junction
  • Camden
  • Chatswood
  • Gladesville
  • Haymarket
  • Leichhardt
