The Commonwealth Bank Staff Community Fund has been supporting the health and wellbeing of young Australians since 1917. This proud tradition is carried through today with over 10,000 of our current and retired staff donating to the fund from their pay each fortnight. We match every dollar donated from payroll giving with an equivalent donation.
Our people’s generosity and responsiveness helps the Fund support three main programs:
You can contribute to the work of the Staff Community Fund by making a donation to help us continue to support our partner organisations.
Midnight Basketball is a national social inclusion program, which helps youth aged 12 to 18 years to identify and embrace positive opportunities. The Commonwealth Bank Staff Community Fund is a foundation partner of Midnight Basketball, supporting the organisation since 2008. To date, over 45,000 children have benefited from this program.
Midnight Basketball tournaments incorporate basketball, healthy dinner, and compulsory life skills workshops on a Friday or Saturday night over eight weeks. Commonwealth Bank staff volunteer their time at tournaments by coaching, catering and delivering a financial literacy workshop.
The Clown Doctors bring fun and laughter to children in hospital across Australia. The Fund has been supporting the Clown Doctors initiative since 1998 and is a foundation partner.
Each year, the clown doctors help the lives of over 100,000 families by conducting ‘clown rounds’ in every major children’s hospital in Australia. Our people rally behind the Clown Doctors’ fundraising event, Smile Day, held in April each year.
The Staff Community fund provides Community grants of up to $10,000 to organisations that directly benefit children in their local communities.
