Completing your ID check in NetBank or the CommBank app

  • Using NetBank or the CommBank app is a quick and secure way to complete your ID check from the comfort of your own home. You'll be prompted to complete our online ID check in NetBank or the CommBank app when you sign up to CommBank.

You can use any of the following forms of ID for your online ID check:

    • Australian driver licence
    • Australian passport
    • Foreign passport with a valid visa that’s not under subclass 600, 601 or 651

If you’re under the age of 18, you can also use a:

    • Medicare card
    • Australian birth certificate

It’s better to have as many of these IDs ready as possible, as you may need more than one to verify your identity. If your ID has an expiry date, check it’s not out of date.

We also need your tax residency details. For every country you’re a tax resident of, you need to provide a Tax Identification Number (TIN).
