Completing your ID check in NetBank or the CommBank app

NetBank or the CommBank app is a quick, safe way to complete your ID check from the comfort of your own home. You’ll need to log into NetBank or the app using the NetBank login details we’ve provided you via email.

You can use any of the following forms of ID. It’s better to have as many of these documents on hand as possible, as you may be able to use more than one document to improve your chances of verifying your identity. If your ID has an expiry date, double-check it’s not out-of-date.

  • Australian driver’s licence
  • passport
  • Medicare card
  • Australian birth certificate

We also need details about all your country(ies) of tax residency, including Australia. For each country of foreign tax residency, you need to provide a Tax Identification Number (TIN).

Simple tips to help:

  • if you have lived at another address in Australia in the last 3 years, before the current one, please remember to provide these details
  • you must enter your name and document numbers exactly as they appear on the documents, even one mistake can cause you to fail or can cause delays in opening and using your account
