What you'll need

    • Transaction Purposes must first be enabled on your CommBiz Service. Call us on 13 2339 to do this
    • You'll need to be an Administrator to create a Transaction Purpose

About

  • Transaction Purposes is a CommBiz function that allows you to add an additional field to your Transaction Groups, which you can use to decide which users will see the transaction details (i.e. a drilldown on specific accounts and amounts). For example, you might create a transaction purpose of ‘Payroll’ and only allow certain users to access these transaction details.

Create a transaction purpose

    1. Log on to CommBiz. Select Admin, then Service. From the left menu, select Preferences, then Edit
    2. To create a transaction purpose, enter the purpose name and remitter name

Note: The remitter name is the reference printed on the recipient’s bank statement for manually created transactions. EFT files imported into CommBiz use the remitter name in the file.
    3. Select Add
    4. The new transaction purpose will be added to the list. Check the Enable box next to your transaction purpose, then Save and Confirm.

Users who have View and/or Create CommBiz roles will have any new transaction purposes you create enabled on their profile. To limit which transactions a user can view, you'll need to update the user's permissions from View and/or Create to Custom Permissions or a User Defined Role. Learn more about CommBiz roles
