Private equity

  • The private equity business is a leading player in the Australian and New Zealand markets providing debt funding to financial sponsors/private equity backed companies. We structure, arrange and/or underwrite innovative debt financing packages in support of our clients.

    These typically include Leveraged and/or Management Buyouts, acquisitions, recapitalisations and refinances, public-listings or expansion capital raisings amongst others. Key to our ability to accommodate our clients’ wide-ranging financing objectives is our comprehensive structured solutions product suite and relationships across the market with private equity owners and advisors.  

Structured finance

  • The structured finance team provides capital structuring expertise that is utilised to match borrower needs with private capital funding. The value proposition to clients include the ability to structure a loan with Commonwealth Bank capital and/or third party private capital, resulting in a wider range of financing options to meet client objectives, certainty of funding via underwriting or arranging; and capability to execute specialised product solutions across senior/subordinated loans and bespoke cash flow based financing. 


  • The securitisation business is focused on delivering bespoke funding solutions for our client’s securitisable cash flows. We offer both balance sheet funding facilities and the ability to access term capital markets, supported by a global sales team. The business offers a diverse spectrum of asset backed facilities in Australia and New Zealand, backed by residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, auto finance, equipment leases, consumer or trade receivables.

Funds finance

  • We provide working capital debt facilities to asset management firms that are secured either on the uncalled investor commitments (subscription credit facilities) of a fund, or on the underlying cash flows and distributions of portfolio investments of a fund (net asset value facilities). These facilities enable more efficient management of the liquidity of a fund, providing either short-term borrowings that bridge liquidity needs between investor calls, or longer-term leverage for a fund. 

Global capital markets & syndicate

  • Capital markets and syndicate connects borrowers and investors around the globe, offering a comprehensive suite of public and private debt solutions including loans, bonds and hybrid securities. Our clients include domestic and offshore corporates, financial institutions and government agencies. Our global distribution network, technical expertise and strong relationships with borrowers and investors enable us to deliver tailored solutions. Agency & trustee services

  • As facility agent and security trustee, we offer capability that assists clients to:

    • Manage all drawdowns, repayment and rollover notices, ensuring payments are executed promptly and securely;
    • Modify a facility by assisting with requests for lender consents, waivers, facility amendments and approvals;
    • Support correspondence between syndicated members, borrowers, legal advisers and other third-party advisers;
    • Take delivery and hold all security on behalf of lenders;
    • Act as an inter-creditor agent by managing the relationship between creditors in an agent or trustee capacity;
    • Act as paying agent in USPP note issues and club loan facilities, registrar services, calculating and remitting interest, commitment fees and principal payments.
