Additional fee to cover correspondent bank charges
We use correspondent banks to process IMTs. You can now pay an upfront fee (on top of our transfer fee) to cover any fees charged by these correspondent banks for some currency transfers.
Sending an IMT from an AUD account
You can choose to pay an additional AUD$15 to cover any fees charged by the correspondent banks. This AUD$15 fee option is available for IMTs sent from an AUD account using NetBank or the CommBank app, in any currency except AUD, EUR, GBP, NZD, USD and KWD. For EUR, GBP, NZD, and USD, we’ll pay the correspondent banking fees for you. There are no correspondent bank fees payable for transfers in KWD.
The AUD$15 fee doesn’t cover any other charges incurred from the beneficiary’s bank, which may have their own processing fees. It’s also not available when using a Foreign Currency Account (in NetBank or the CommBank app).
Sending an IMT from a Foreign Currency Account
You can choose to pay an additional fee when sending same currency transfers (e.g. sending an IMT using your GBP account to a GBP account overseas), using CommBiz or in-branch. The table below sets out the available currencies and corresponding fees. The fees below don’t cover any other charges incurred from the beneficiary’s bank, which may have their own processing fees. The fees are payable in AUD.
* This fee is waived when sending a cross currency IMT
For more information about these fees, see our Standard fees and charges for international payment products and travel funds and CommBiz Terms and Conditions.
