The Chief Operating Office is responsible for developing and executing the IB&M Strategy. We deliver on strategic projects including benchmark reform, financial crime remediation and credit origination process optimisation. A key aspect of our role is to create the framework for our teams to do what’s right. This means providing due diligence over expenditure and financial reporting, and ensuring appropriate governance for decision making and oversight for reporting to the CEO and the Board. We’re accountable for four IB&M-wide functions:
Strong and long-standing client relationships have always been the foundation of our business. Client Solutions leads these banking relationships and provides transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions across the financing spectrum. We operate in six industry eco-systems:
Global Markets is responsible for the Group’s sales and trading activities within global financial markets. Our team works closely with Client Solutions to help our customers navigate financial risks, manage portfolios and optimise asset performance. We serve our client’s needs across Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Fixed Income and Interest Rate products. With offices in major offshore locations including Europe, Asia and the US, we’re always helping clients to be agile and adapt to changing financial market conditions.
The Non-Financial Risk and Conduct team is responsible for embedding an effective line 1 function covering compliance, regulatory change, financial crime and operational risk to support the management, governance and oversight of non-financial risk in IB&M. We monitor our conduct framework to ensure our peoples’ behaviour and business activities result in fair outcomes for clients and protect market integrity.
