17 May 2016

Commonwealth Bank thanks ABC News for broadcasting and posting their clarification regarding the Four Corners ‘Home Truths’ program which was first aired on 2 May 2016.

Four Corners broadcast at the end of their program on 16 May 2016 the following statement:  “Two weeks ago in our story on the housing market, Four Corners reported the case of an ABC journalist who alleged her loan applications had been altered to inflate her salary. We said in the story that this had been done by the Commonwealth Bank.  The claim has been challenged by the bank and after further investigations we have been unable to substantiate the assertion that the bank altered her salary.”

The ABC has also posted a clarification on their ABC Corrections and Clarifications page:   http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-05-12/commonwealth-bank/7408502
