Card surcharging changes

Businesses can no longer add a card surcharge to card payments in line with the RBA card surcharging reforms. CommBank is progressively updating EFTPOS terminals from 1 October. If you haven’t switched off surcharging, you'll need your manager passcode to access your surcharge settings and disable surcharging as per instructions found here.

If you use a Point of Sale (POS) system, you may also need to switch-off surcharging in your POS settings. Our Merchant Helpdesk is currently experiencing higher than usual call volumes and longer wait times. Due to high call volumes, online self-service is the quickest way to update your settings.

On public holidays, our branches and contact centres may be closed or have limited operating hours.

Payments scheduled over public holidays are processed on the next business day. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for funds to be received after processing.
