As 1 October approaches, here are the questions customers are asking most about CommBank Yello.
What’s actually changing?
CommBank Yello is evolving - introducing a single points-based currency across the program. From 1 October 2026, eligible customers can earn CommBank Yello points across more of their banking relationship, including across their home loans, savings, cards and insurance. Customers can track their points in one place and redeem them flexibly for rewards such as gift cards, shopping, travel and cash.
Do I need to do anything?
There's nothing you need to do. The new CommBank Yello experience is effective from 1 October 2026 and if you’re eligible, you’ll be moved into it automatically.
If you're eligible for CommBank Yello and have unredeemed Awards points, those points will be automatically converted to CommBank Yello points shortly after the closure of the Awards program.
What happens to my CommBank Awards points?
The CommBank Awards program closes on 29 September 2026. After that date, you’ll no longer be able to earn or redeem CommBank Awards points. Instead, if you’re eligible, you’ll start earning CommBank Yello points.
If you’re eligible for CommBank Yello, your unredeemed Awards points will be converted automatically, with one CommBank Awards point equal to one CommBank Yello point. The converted balance will be available in the CommBank app and NetBank progressively from 1 October 2026. You can find out about how Awards points compare with CommBank Yello points on the CommBank Yello changes webpage.
If you’re not eligible for CommBank Yello, you can request that your unredeemed Awards points be converted to cash by contacting CommBank by 31 December 2026. If you do not take action by that date, we will continue to hold your points for up to two years, during which time you may redeem them if you become eligible for CommBank Yello.
You can read more about the transfer of Awards points on the Credit Cards Updates webpage.
