Changes you can expect on 29 September 2026

Changes you can expect on 29 September 2026:

  • You can no longer earn or redeem CommBank Awards points using your card from this date.
  • CommBank Yello is changing. Eligible customers can start earning CommBank Yello points from eligible credit card spend, if they meet Yello eligibility criteria. Points earn rates will depend on your Yello eligibility and tier.
  • View details of changes to CommBank Awards Terms & Conditions and CommBank Awards program termination.

What happens to your existing CommBank Awards points:

Continue earning and redeeming your Awards points until the CommBank Awards program closes on 29 September 2026. After this:

  • Any unredeemed Awards points will automatically be converted to CommBank Yello points and will be visible within the CommBank app or NetBank. This will occur by 7 October 2026.
  • After your Awards points are converted to Yello points, the primary cardholder can access and redeem them through CommBank Yello if eligible to participate in the CommBank Yello Program at the time of redemption. Additional cardholders won't be able to view or redeem them through CommBank Yello.

If you’re not eligible for CommBank Yello at the time of redemption:

  • You can request your points to be converted to cash by contacting us until 31 December 2026, or
  • Hold onto your points and redeem them through CommBank Yello if you become eligible. Converted points can be redeemed through CommBank Yello for up to two years after they are issued.

If your residential address is outside Australia or you are under 18 years of age or you have opted out of Yello or Yello offers as at 25 September 2026, when the CommBank Awards program closes:

  • Your remaining Awards points will be converted into a one-off cash back amount and applied to your credit card account.

Refer to CommBank Yello Terms and Conditions for full eligibility details.

If you’ve opted-in to Qantas Frequent Flyer:

  • On 29 September 2026, your remaining Awards points will be transferred to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
  • You will also receive a pro-rata refund for the latest annual Qantas Frequent Flyer opt in fee paid before the CommBank Awards Program closes.
  • To transfer your CommBank Yello points to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account in future, you will need to opt in through the CommBank Yello hub in the CommBank app or NetBank.
  • From 1 October 2026, Qantas Frequent Flyer opt-in through CommBank Yello will only be available on selected eligible CommBank credit cards. Customers with a Smart Awards credit card, including those who are currently opted in, will no longer be able to participate in the program through CommBank Yello. Click here to find out more.

If your credit card account was closed by you or us on or after 1 July 2026:

  • If your credit card account was closed before the Awards Program ended, any Awards points not redeemed before the Awards Program ends, will be available for you to redeem for cash at the applicable conversion rate set by us and subject to change from time to time, by contacting us within 90 days of your account being closed. After that time, they will be forfeited.

FAQs

Travel and dining credits are monthly benefits available to eligible Smart and Ultimate credit cardholders. Eligible Smart credit cardholders will receive a $10 travel credit and a $10 dining credit each month. Eligible Ultimate credit cardholders will receive a $25 travel credit and a $10 dining credit each month. Travel credits can be used on Travel Booking, provided by Hopper and dining credits can be used on Dine In Deals, provided by EatClub. Exclusions apply1,2.

Travel and dining credits will accumulate until they expire. Any unused credits remain in your Travel Booking Wallet or Dine In Deals account and can be used before they expire. When redeeming travel credits, the full value of your Travel Booking Wallet will be applied to pay for all or part of a booking in a single transaction. When redeeming dining credits, you can choose how much of your available balance to apply. If the transaction amount is less than the credit amount applied, or less than your total available credit balance, any remaining balance will stay in your account for future use.

Travel and Dining credits expire 12 months from the date they are granted, issued or credited. Any unused credits will also be forfeited if you no longer hold an open and active eligible CommBank card.

DashPass is DoorDash’s subscription service, which provides benefits including $0 delivery fees on eligible restaurant orders (minimum order value applies).

  • Login or signup to create your DoorDash account
  • Add your eligible CommBank card to your DoorDash account

World Debit Mastercard customers will now be required to meet the $500 minimum pre-trip spend on their card, effective 29 September 2026.

If you have a trip planned on or after 29 September and want to be covered under your existing insurance, you must activate your travel insurance by 28 September 2026 and spend at least $500 in a single transaction on your prepaid travel costs using your eligible card before you leave Australia. If you've already activated a travel insurance policy and met the $500 spend requirement, your policy will remain unchanged.

World Debit Mastercard customers, if you activate your travel insurance by 28 September 2026, you won't need to meet the $500 minimum pre-trip spend requirement and your policy will remain unchanged. Things you should know

1 While you have an open and active Ultimate or Smart credit card, Travel Credits will be applied to your Travel Booking Wallet within 7 business days of the grant or issuance, but in some cases may take longer, and have a 1-year expiry from the date granted, issued, and/or credited. These travel credits are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. Expiry dates can be viewed in your Wallet & Offers page of the Travel Booking website.

Travel credits are only issued for a card account statement period where the applicable card fee has been charged for that statement period. Where the fee is waived or not charged, no travel credit will be provided for that period, except where the fee is waived by meeting the minimum spend requirement (Smart: $2,000 per statement period; Ultimate: $4,000 per statement period). Travel Credit benefit is subject to change, and removal without notice and at our discretion.

When redeeming these travel credits, the entire value of your Travel Booking Wallet will be applied to pay for all or a portion of the booking amount in a single transaction. If the booking amount is less than the total value of your travel credits, the remaining balance of travel credits will remain in your Travel Booking Wallet for future use.

In the event that you no longer hold an open and active Eligible CommBank Card, you will forfeit all accumulated travel credits.
