Setting up data sharing in NetBank and the CommBank App

  1. If you’re an individual customer or sole trader, you’ll need to start from the website or app of the accredited organisation or provider.
  2. If you're a business customer, you'll need to set up a data sharing delegate first in Netbank.
  3. Provide your consent on the website or app of the accredited organisation you want to share your data with.
  4. You’ll then be taken securely to CommBank so you can set up data sharing. Here’s a snapshot of the steps:

Enter the mobile number you’ve registered and we’ll send you a One Time Password. We may ask you for the last 4 digits of your NetBank ID to help us identify you.

Go to your notifications in the CommBank app or check your NetBank inbox and enter the password.

If you don’t receive it, call 13 2221.

App screen: "Which accounts would you like to share?"

Choose the accounts you’d like to share. If a joint account is enabled for data sharing, you’ll be able to select it, otherwise you’ll need to enable it first (see below).

Review the details and confirm you'd like to share. We’ll take you securely back to the accredited organisation you started on.

Who can share your data?

To be eligible, you must be:

  • At least 18 years old and registered for NetBank
  • An additional cardholder, an authorised operator or have online access to your account

View or manage data sharing?

To view details or stop sharing, you or a data sharing delegate can log on to NetBank and go to Settings, Manage data sharing, then “Setting up data sharing delegates”.

Setting up data sharing in CommBiz

  1. Before you can share data, if you’re a business, you’ll need to set up a data sharing delegate.
  2. Provide your consent to share data on the website or app of the accredited organisation
  3. You’ll then be taken securely to CommBiz so you can choose the accounts to share. Here’s a snapshot of the steps:

Enter your User ID and we’ll send you a One Time Password.

Go to notifications in your CommBiz inbox and enter the password.

If you don’t receive it, call 13 2339.

Choose the profile you’d like to share data for and then choose the accounts you'd like to share.

Review the details and confirm you'd like to share. You’ll then be taken securely from CommBiz back to the accredited organisation.

Who can share data for your business?

  • To be eligible for data sharing, you:

    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Be verified by our ID check
    • Have access to CommBiz service

View or manage data sharing

  • To view details or stop sharing, you or a data sharing delegate can log on to CommBiz and go to “Functions”, then “Manage Data sharing”, then “View & manage data sharing”.
