What is ConnectID?

  • ConnectID is a new service that lets you use the CommBank app to prove your identity online to merchants and other businesses, while keeping your personal data safe.

Once you’ve given consent, ConnectID allows you to share your verified identity data with approved merchants securely within the CommBank app. It’s a quick and easy process that gives you greater control of your data and privacy - you only share the personal information you need to.

How it works

When you sign up for a new service online with an approved merchant, you may be able to share your identity data using ConnectID. It’s safe, secure and easier than manually entering your details or downloading a new app.

2. Choose CommBank from the list of verified providers

3. You’ll be taken to the CommBank app to review the details you’d like to share

Samsung pay

4. Authenticate with your PIN or Face ID

5. Consent to share your details by tapping Continue (we’ll never share your data without your express consent)

6. You’ll be redirected back to the merchant to complete the transaction
