Savings rate changes

We are making a variety of increases across select savings products effective Friday 15 May 2026 including the following:

NetBank Saver

NetBank Saver Introductory Rate~ for new customers will increase by 0.25% p.a. to 5.20% p.a., comprised of:

  • Standard variable interest rate which will increase by 0.15% p.a. to 2.10% p.a.
  • Fixed bonus margin which will increase by 0.10% p.a. to 3.10% p.a.

NetBank Saver standard variable rate for existing customers will increase by 0.15% p.a. to 2.10% p.a.

GoalSaver

GoalSaver with Bonus Interest Rate will increase by 0.25% p.a. to 5.00% p.a., comprised of:

  • Standard variable rate which is unchanged at 0.25% p.a.
  • Bonus variable interest rate which will increase by 0.25% p.a. to 4.75% p.a.

Youthsaver

Youthsaver with Bonus Interest will increase by 0.25% p.a. to 5.05% p.a., comprised of:

  • Standard variable rate which will increase by 0.15% p.a. to 2.15% p.a.
  • Bonus variable interest rate which will increase by 0.10% p.a. to 2.90% p.a.

How to check current interest rates

You can log on to the CommBank app or NetBank to see the current interest rate for your Savings account or Term Deposit. Or alternatively, you can go to our account pages below to see the most up-to-date rates. 

How to check your interest rate

You can check the interest rate for your savings accounts in the CommBank app or NetBank. 

For the CommBank app:

  1. Log on and go to 'Accounts'
  2. Select your savings account
  3. Tap on 'Manage', then 'Rates'.

Term Deposits

You can choose to lock-in a competitive interest rate with a term deposit, from as short as 1 month to as long as 5 years.

Get 5.20% p.a. for 12 months with a Term Deposit from 1 May 2026 for a limited time only.^

Available on balances from $5,000 to $5,000,000 with interest paid annually. Special offer available from 1 May 2026 for a limited time only.

Things you should know

~Any customer opening their first NetBank Saver from today will receive a variable introductory interest rate for the first 5 months after account opening. The variable introductory rate is currently 4.95% p.a. (increasing to 5.20% p.a. from 15 May 2026), which includes a fixed bonus margin currently at 3.00% p.a. (increasing to 3.10% p.a. from 15 May 2026) and the NetBank Saver standard variable interest rate, currently 1.95% p.a. (increasing to 2.10% p.a. from 15 May 2026). At the end of the introductory rate period, the NetBank Saver standard variable interest rate applicable at that time will apply. This introductory rate offer is available for a limited time only and the Bank reserves the right to terminate this offer at any time. The variable introductory interest rate will not apply to NetBank Saver accounts which are jointly owned where one of the account holders has previously held a NetBank Saver account.

^Available on balances from $5,000 to $5,000,000 with interest paid annually. Special Offers are available on Term Deposits opened or renewed by personal or Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) customers only. The offer is not available to all other Business customers (including Financial Institutions).
