What is Ceba?

Ceba (see-bah) is your virtual banking assistant who can answer a range of day-to-day banking questions and provide you with helpful info.

A sophisticated chatbot trained to give you in-the-moment, digital support. Not to be confused with our messaging or live chat support, where you have an online conversation with one of our CommBank humans. 

You can ask Ceba how to help you:

  • Get a statement
  • Update contact details
  • Activate a card and set a PIN
  • Check account balances
  • Use Cardless Cash
  • Make payments

How to chat to Ceba

In the CommBank app (on your phone)

  1. Download the CommBank app
  2. Tap the Ceba icon at the top right corner on the CommBank app home screen.

In NetBank (on your desktop)

  1. Log on to NetBank
  2. Ceba lives in the chat tab, on the upper right handside in NetBank

Connect with a human

As a virtual assistant, Ceba is great. Quick, helpful and there when you need. Nothing replaces the human touch though. And Ceba knows that.

Ceba will let you know when it’s better that you chat to a human – and give you the right info so you can get in touch with the right team.

There are a few ways that Ceba can put you in touch with a human:

  • Give you the right phone number to call 
  • Direct you to click to call in the CommBank app so your call is fast tracked
  • Ask you to leave the humans a message and they’ll get back to you with a response. 

Keeping your info private

Ceba lives behind your CommBank App and NetBank log on. This means that any personal info you share with Ceba remains private. And Ceba may ask you something, in order to provide you with a more personalised answer. So feel reassured that whatever you tell Ceba is always kept secure.
