Is the site real – do they have an official licence? Always check the website is legitimate by checking the register of licensed interactive gambling providers. If a website isn’t listed here, it is likely breaking the law.
Unrealistic promises you will win. You may win but it’s unlikely you will receive any of those winnings from these sites or get any of the money you gave them back.
Look out for PayID or bank transfer requests. Gambling sites asking you to transfer money using PayID (mobile number, email address or ABN) or via bank transfer are usually fake.
Be cautious of social media posts promoting gambling sites with referral links, these can often lead to fake websites. Excessive promotional offers are often red flags. If you see a fake online gambling website advertised on social media report the page.
