About the program

  • Our Career Transition Program is a paid program for professionals who are seeking a pivot in their career and want to experience a rewarding pathway within Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M). The program is open to individuals with 2-6 years’ professional experience practicing Law, Finance, Accounting, Consulting, Engineering or Mathematics.

    Run over 12 months, candidates will join the program at the Senior Associate level and experience 2 x 6 month rotations in a business area aligned to their interests.

    At the completion of the program, candidates will roll off into an ongoing Senior Associate position.

What's involved?

    • Participants will complete a 12 month program, after which they will roll off into an ongoing Senior Associate role
    • 2 x 6 month rotations in a business area aligned to participants skills and interests
    • A comprehensive 3-week induction with industry-specific skills training
    • Participants will have the support of a mentor, who will provide guidance and insight as you navigate your new career
    • You will be paired with a buddy who will offer peer support through the program
    • Monthly learning sessions on a range of topics designed to aid in your technical and professional development
    • Fantastic networking opportunities across both IB&M and the broader Bank

Eligibility criteria

This program is designed for people who:

  • Have 2-6 years of relevant professional experience practising Law, Finance, Accounting, Consulting, Engineering or Maths
  • Are commercially astute and possess a strong interest in, and knowledge of, current market/industry issues
  • Have a positive attitude coupled with a strong work ethic, adaptability to change, curiosity to learn and eagerness to pursue personal development
  • Are Sydney-based, or willing to relocate to Sydney, and have permanent Australian working rights
  • Possess a relevant University degree

  • Step 3: Interview

    Your interview process will involve 2 x panel discussions with leaders across IB&M.

  • Step 4: Offer

    Successful candidates will receive news of their offer.

  • Step 5: Program starts

    Applications for the February 2025 Program are now closed. Applications for the February 2026 program will open in late 2025.
