Friday 14th January - 2.00pm Update

Today we have seen an improvement in the number of sites that have re-opened for business.  There are currently 14 branches closed and 76 ATM’s not functioning in Queensland.

It is expected that these branches will remain closed for the remainder of today and work will be undertaken over the weekend to ascertain if they can reopen on Monday.  We encourage staff from the affected branches to stay in contact with their Manager and/or Area Manager regarding a return to work.

Services at our Eagle Street building remain closed and we have no immediate timeframe on when we can re-enter this building.  We will continue to monitor the position and report regularly to you.  Should you have any concerns, please contact your Manager or, failing that, HR Direct on 1800 989 696.

Our branch at 240 Queen Street is open for business, however there is still limited access to the administrative areas.  This position will also be monitored over the weekend.

Staff should continue to focus on the safety of them and their families during this period and take no unnecessary risks.

It is strongly recommended that you check with Translink Queensland regarding the availability of public transport to and from the CBD and across Brisbane and also for any travel and transport warnings before embarking on your journey to work.

Once again, staff considering travel to Queensland or Northern New South Wales over the next week or so should reconsider their travel plans until this disaster and its affects have passed.
