Some countries require this information to meet local reporting requirements. Providing the correct code helps reduce the risk of payment delays or returns.

Regulatory reporting codes can contain letters, numbers, or a combination of both. They are usually 3 to 9 characters long.

Some countries require a regulatory reporting code when you send an international payment through CommBiz and other eligible digital banking channels.

How to use a regulatory reporting code

To use a regulatory reporting code:

  1. Identify the destination country for your payment
  2. Find the applicable code for that country
  3. Select the code that best matches the purpose of your payment
  4. Enter the code in the Payment purpose description or Regulatory reporting code field

Using the correct code helps reduce the risk of delays.

What happens if you don't provide a regulatory reporting code?

If a regulatory reporting code is required and isn't provided, your payment may be delayed, returned or rejected.
