How it works

Manage your Click to Pay profile in the CommBank app

Step 1

Check your Click to Pay set-up

You can view your Click to Pay profile or set up Click to Pay in the CommBank app.

Open the CommBank app, tap Cards then Click to Pay.

Step 2

Manage your Click to Pay profile

You can manage your Click to Pay details including your registered Click to Pay email and mobile number or add/remove your CommBank card(s) in the CommBank app. 

Open the CommBank app, tap Cards then Click to Pay.

Step 3

For added security, the first time you use a CommBank card with Click to Pay you’ll receive a notification in the CommBank app to approve. We may also request you to approve Click to Pay purchases occasionally. 

Shop online with Click to Pay

You can use Click to Pay wherever Click to Pay is supported and you see the Click to Pay icon when online shopping by following these steps:

Step 1

Enter your Click to Pay email and phone number at checkout.

Step 2

You’ll receive a one-time code from Mastercard or Visa. Choose “remember me” on your trusted devices & skip for this step future purchases from the same device and browser.

Step 3

Choose your preferred card you want to pay with.

Step 4

For added security, the first transaction will require authorisation by you within the CommBank app (as shown in the image below).

Frequently asked questions

Click to Pay is a secure online checkout payment option. With Click to Pay, you can make a purchase using your CommBank card without giving the online store your card number, expiry or CVC. Instead, you provide your registered Click to Pay email and phone number.

CommBank offers Click to Pay as a complimentary card feature to make your online shopping checkout experience more secure and convenient. When you use Click to Pay your card details will not be shared directly with the online store making it safer and quicker to checkout.

To be eligible for Click to Pay, you need to:

  • Be 14 years or older
  • Have a valid Australian address
  • Be registered via the CommBank app
  • Have an eligible and activated CommBank Mastercard (debit or credit).

You can add the following activated CommBank cards to Click to Pay via the CommBank app.

  • CommBank Debit Mastercard 
  • CommBank World Debit Mastercard
  • CommBank Mastercard personal and business credit cards
  • CommBank StepPay card

Some CommBank cards aren't eligible for enrolment into Click to Pay via the CommBank app:

  • Keycard – you can upgrade it to a Debit Mastercard in NetBank or by contacting us
  • Travel Money Card
  • CommBank corporate credit cards and corporate charge cards
  • Visa and Mastercard Business Debit Cards
  • Visa credit cards.

You can set up Click to Pay using the CommBank app if you are eligible. CommBank may also set up eligible customers into Click to Pay, and if we do, you’ll get a notification in the CommBank app and an opportunity to opt-out.

To enable Click to Pay, you will need the latest version of the CommBank app. Log on to the app and tap Cards then select Click to Pay.

You will receive a notification in the CommBank app when Click to Pay is ready to use. Once ready, your Click to Pay profile will be accessible from the Cards screen within the CommBank app.

Your Click to Pay email and phone number are the details that were registered with CommBank at the time of signing up for Click to Pay.

To manage your Click to Pay details go to the CommBank app, tap Cards then Click to Pay. You’ll have the option to: 

  • View your Click to Pay email and mobile number
  • View add or remove your CommBank cards added to Click to Pay 
  • Opt-out of Click to Pay for CommBank cards added from the CommBank app.

CommBank will disclose your personal information, such as full name, card details, and contact details (email address, mobile and billing address), to Mastercard for the purpose of setting up your Click to Pay profile. 

Mastercard will use industry masking standards when using your Click to Pay profile to enable the Click to Pay checkout to protect your personal information.

CommBank does not control the Click to Pay checkout, including how your personal information is handled by Mastercard. For more details on how they collect, protect and share your personal information, check Mastercard’s Click to Pay for more information.

No. Click to Pay can only be used for online transactions.

Enter your Click to Pay email and phone at the checkout (this will be the same as your CommBank registered email and mobile number), then you will see the option to pay with Click to Pay if the retailer supports Click to Pay.

You can use Click to Pay at participating online stores that support Click to Pay as a checkout option. 

You can review a selection of these stores on the Mastercard website.

Yes, you can continue to use CommBank cards if you have previously signed up to Click to Pay via an online store’s checkout, or via the Mastercard Click to Pay websites. However, they may not display within the CommBank app.

The ‘Remember me’ option lets you check out faster with Click to Pay the next time you online shop using the same device and browser. Your Click to Pay details will be remembered at checkout so you don’t need to enter a one-time code to access your cards in Click to Pay each time. This feature is not recommended for shared devices. ‘Remember me’ won’t work if you cleared your cookies or if your browser settings block cookies.

Yes.  Go to the CommBank app, tap Cards then Click to Pay. From there you can select to ‘Opt-out’ of Click to Pay.

Yes, you can still access the existing features and benefits associated with your CommBank card when using Click to Pay, including the ability to raise a transaction dispute with us. 

Yes, you can add or remove your CommBank Cards within your Click to Pay profile at any time. From the CommBank app, tap Cards, then Click to Pay and add your new card.
