Withdrawal fees

Assisted withdrawals in a branch, agency or through telephone banking.
Cheques written by you and negotiated through the clearing system, excluding those cashed over-the-counter at a CommBank branch.

    No ATM withdrawal fees with the largest branch and ATM network in Australia

    Non-CommBank ATM fees

    ATM owners may charge a fee, which will be disclosed at the time of the transaction. If you proceed with the transaction, the ATM owner’s fee will be debited to your account (in addition to the withdrawal amount, if applicable).  You should check the ATM owner’s fees that apply carefully before completing transactions at non-CommBank ATMs in Australia.

International ATMs and transaction fees

Access to networks overseas:
  • ASB Bank ATMs in New Zealand
  • CommBank ATMs outside Australia
The fee is debited to your account when you make the withdrawal.

  • Any other cash withdrawal overseas.
AUD $5.00 plus 3.5% of the transaction value
International transaction fee:
  • Maestro (EFTPOS) purchase or Debit MasterCard purchase that involves currency conversion.

  • Maestro (EFTPOS) purchase or Debit MasterCard purchase in Australian dollars at an overseas merchant (including internet)

  • Dishonour of cheques & direct debit

    Cheques/Direct debit can be dishonoured (not paid) because there are insufficient cleared funds in the account to cover the amount of the cheque/direct debit being processed.

    $5.00 for each cheque/direct debit.

  • Dishonour of unpaid scheduled payments

    A dishonour fee applies if there are insufficient available funds to make the scheduled payment. We will attempt to make the scheduled payment over 5 consecutive business days, following which, if there is still insufficient funds a dishonour fee is applied.

    $5.00 following 5 unsuccessful attempts.

  • Overdraw fee

    An overdraw fee applies to certain accounts when on a given day, certain payments go through which exceed the then available funds in your account or any agreed overdraft limit.


    Additional interest applies for each day your account remains overdrawn.

  • 1 Monthly account fee waived for accounts with at least $2,000 deposited each calendar month (excludes Bank initiated transactions). A monthly account fee waiver will also apply if you’re under 30 years of age. You may also be eligible for a different monthly account fee exemption if you have an aged, disability or war veterans’ pension deposited in your account, have a balance of $50,000 or more in eligible contributing accounts, are reliant on over the counter services because of a disability or have an eligible home loan.

  • 2 You can only incur one overdraw fee, per account, per day regardless of the number of overdrawing transactions or payments that go through in that day. The fee is usually charged the next business day.
