When should I open an account?

  • If you are arriving in Australia within the next 14 days or have been here for less than 12 months:

    • Make sure you provide your ID for verification at a CommBank branch within 20 days of opening your account or it may close auotmatically. You can reapply at any CommBank branch.
    • You can only deposit money into your account or make purchases once your ID is verified at a CommBank branch in Australia.
