Our approach

Diversity and inclusion is integral to our culture, our values and the way we do business.

Understanding and responding to the needs of our customers is best accomplished when our people and leaders reflect the diversity of our customers and their diverse views are encouraged and valued. 

Our strategy

In January 2018, we launched our new 2018+ Global Diversity and Inclusion strategy. The purpose of this strategy is to deliver on our vision and values by continuing to build an inclusive culture. It has three key pillars:

  1. Our People - Our workplace is one where diversity of thought is encouraged so everyone feels valued and heard and we create a sense of belonging.
  2. Our Customers - Our people understand different communities and use these insights and their own lived experience to provide a highly valued and innovative customer experience.
  3. Our Communities - Our communities recognise us as an authentic leader in diversity and inclusion, and building our external brand and relationships. 

Our progress

This year we published our first external Diversity and Inclusion Annual Report as part of our commitment to transparency and disclosure around our Diversity and Inclusion activities. It provides an overview of progress against our key goals, initiatives and measures including targets for the previous financial year (July 2016 – June 2017).

Gender equality - We are compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, following the submission of the annual compliance report for 2017. We have also received the 2017-2018 Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
