Single Rate Per Transaction

  • Why is CommBank making changes to the pricing plans?

We’ve heard from our customers who wanted a simple and competitive pricing solution, where they don’t have to compare costs of different schemes and manage the routing themselves.

Our new flat rates are designed to offer just that. By removing complex pricing structures, you will pay the same competitive flat rate per transaction, regardless of the interchange rate or the type of card (debit, credit or American Express/JCB or UnionPay).

  • Do I need to do anything to be on the Single Rate Per Transaction plan?

You don’t need to do anything.

If you’d like more information on the changes, you can visit our EFTPOS, Payments and eCommerce page for more information on other pricing plans for your EFTPOS or eCommerce merchant facility. Alternatively, contact us about alternative options by speaking to your Relationship Manager or with a merchant payment specialist on 1800 230 177, available 24/7.

  • What cards can I accept on the Single Rate Per Transaction plan?

Single Rate Per Transaction pricing plan allows you to accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express/JCB 2, eftpos and UnionPay transactions at 1.1%1 for in-store card transactions payments, or 1.5%1 for online payment transactions.

  • I already have American Express2 acceptance with my current pricing plan. Are my Terms and Conditions changing?

No, your American Express Terms and Conditions for Card Acceptance still apply, which can be found at
    americanexpress.com.au/merchant/termsandconditions.

New pricing plan

  • Why do I have to wait so long for my new pricing plan to take effect?

  • Can I stay on my existing pricing plan?

From 25 October 2021, CommBank will only be offering Single Rate Per Transaction and Interchange Pricing plans to our customers.

If you've been informed that your pricing plan will shortly be no longer for sale, please contact your Relationship Manager or a merchant payment specialist on 1800 230 177 to discuss your options.
