How it works

    1. Cardholder pays using their credit card
    2. Your EMV 3DS service provider packages up and sends the transaction data to the Issuer via the authentication request
    3. The Issuers EMV 3DS service provider determines the transactions risk
    4. Issuer may prompt the cardholder to verify their ID e.g. with a one-time password, biometric authentication etc
    5. Upon successful authentication, your payment gateway submits the transaction for processing

    2. Once approved, you may enable 3DS 2.0 on your BPOINT Hosted Payment Page or API
    3. Continue to follow the steps for existing BPOINT users
  • Existing BPOINT User

    1. To enable 3DS 2.0 on the BPOINT API, follow the BPOINT Developer Guide to enable 3DS 2.0 on your BPOINT API including authentication flows and then call us on 1800 230 177 to complete the set up
    2. To enable 3DS 2.0 on the BPOINT Hosted Payment Page, call us on 1800 230 177 to enable 3DS 2.0.

Things you should know

  • EMV 3DS is only available via Hosted Checkout and eInvoicing (not APIs)

    From October 2020 liability will sit with Mastercard, Visa and American Express (AMEX)

    To enable EMV 3DS for AMEX you will need to contact AMEX directly for credentials to pass to CommWeb Support.
