“Hey Siri pay rent"

    Set up a Siri Shortcut using a memorable phrase and you can make a transfer or pay someone from your CommBank address book on the go (or while you’re scrolling on your couch).

Start using Siri Shortcuts

  • What you need first:

    1. Download the CommBank app
    2. iPhone device with iOS 12 or later 
    3. If you don't bank with us, open a bank account or apply for a credit card
  • Set up a Siri Shortcut for payment

    1. Log on to the CommBank app, tap 'Pay & transfer', then tap 'Pay someone'
    2. Select the person you'd like to pay from your CommBank address book
    3. Enter the payment details and tap 'Next'
    4. On the payment confirmation screen, tap 'Add to Siri' and record your unique phrase

    Your phrase will now be linked to that specific payment – same person, same amount (unless you decide to change it)

  • Set up a Siri Shortcut for transfer

    1. Log on to the CommBank app, tap 'Pay & transfer', then tap 'Transfer between accounts'
    2. Choose the 'From' and 'To' accounts
    3. Enter the payment details and tap 'Transfer'
    4. On the transfer confirmation screen, tap 'Add to Siri' and record your unique phrase

    Your phrase will now be linked to that specific transfer – same accounts, same amount (you can always change it)

Log on to the CommBank app (if you haven’t already) check the payment details on screen, tap done

Changing your phrase

  • Here’s how to re-record or delete your phrase.

    • Use Touch ID or Face ID to log on to your iPhone
    • Go to your Phone Settings
    • Tap Siri & Search
    • Tap My Shortcuts and choose the phrase you want to edit

Keeping your info secure

  • Even though you’re asking Siri to pay someone or transfer money, your personal and banking info remains secure.

    You’ll use Face ID or Touch ID to log on to your iPhone and we’ll always ask you to confirm the payment before it’s made. This avoids duplication or you accidently paying someone more than you owe.

    However you choose to pay, we take fraud protection very seriously. We look for any suspicious activity and take steps to protect your account.

Things you should know

  • Only available for transfers between your accounts or payments using someone’s bank account details. Not currently available for payments to mobile numbers or for International Money Transfers.

    Siri Shortcuts is available on iPhone devices with iOS 12 or later.

    We aren’t responsible for any issues with Siri Shortcuts or if Apple make any changes to technology that impacts the way you access the CommBank app.
