The Pinnacle Foundation scholarships bring dreams to life

The Pinnacle Foundation scholarships bring dreams to life

We're proud to support The Pinnacle Foundation, which provides education scholarships to disadvantaged LGBTIQ youth around Australia.

As sponsors of The Pinnacle Foundation, we understand the importance of equality in education and believe this dream is achievable for all Australian youth. Our continued sponsorship of this great organisation, Australia’s only national organisation that supports marginalised Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) youth, will help make this dream a reality, by helping provide access to a world-class education for the LGBTIQ youth community across Australia.

Each year, The Pinnacle Foundation invites eligible students to apply for education scholarships which cover tuition and many study-related expenses. Successful scholarship applicants are provided with this financial support to help them achieve their goals, whether they’re furthering their education at university, TAFE or completing high school. Students are also paired with a Pinnacle Mentor who guides and supports them through their journey to success.

“CommBank’s financial support of marginalised LGBTIQ youth through the Pinnacle Foundation is a great measure of their commitment to equality and social justice. It’s powerful to see one of Australia’s largest companies dedicate financial, volunteer and technical support to help our youth with such high potential.”
Sean Linkson, CEO of The Pinnacle Foundation.

Our work with the foundation has inspired us to better the lives of LGBTIQ youth and open up opportunities to more students in Australia. CommBank is also committed to diversity both in our workplace and wider community. We’ve developed an internal support network ‘UNITY’ to provide ongoing support to our LGBTIQ employees.

"I’ve been proud to serve as one of the Group Executive champions for our LGBTI staff over the past three years.  At CommBank, we’re determined to create a culture that inspires everyone to give their best by embracing diversity. We’ve made good progress since 2012 following the launch of unity, our LGBTI and allies employee network. In 2016, the Australian Workplace Equality Index named CommBank the second most inclusive employer in Australia. I’m particularly excited about our sponsorship of The Pinnacle Foundation for a further three years. This sponsorship goes beyond a financial commitment and allows our people to connect with successful scholars through mentoring and volunteering opportunities."
Matt Comyn, Group Executive Retail Banking Services, Commonwealth Bank.

Applications for this year’s round of scholarships are now open. Visit The Pinnacle Foundation to find out more and apply for a scholarship.
