Gap cover helps to pay up to 25% on top of your sum insured when the amount isn't enough to cover a claim. For example, you have Plus Contents Cover with a sum insured of $60,000 and your contents are completely destroyed under the Insured Event ‘Storm, rainwater and flood’.
In this example, you may be eligible for an additional $15,000 on top of your sum insured.3

Contents Insurance covers household goods or personal belongings that you own or keep in your home – from furniture, appliances, and white goods to personal belongings like computers, clothing and shoes. It also covers you for carpet and window furnishings.

An excess is an amount you must pay when your insurance claim is accepted and agreed to be paid out. All excess amounts will be shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
When an excess applies, you must pay your Basic excess plus any applicable additional excess(es).
