Who can apply?
Children under 14 will need a parent or legal guardian to open a Smart Access Account for Youth or a Youthsaver account on their behalf.
Over 14s can apply for an Everyday Account Smart Access without parental consent online or in
Your child needs to have:
- An Australian residential address
- Their birth certificate.
Parents or Legal Guardians who don't already bank with us, will need at least one form of ID e.g. Driver’s
Children over 9 will get a Keycard if their account is opened online.
Anyone opening an account in branch has the option of a Keycard.
Parents or legal guardians can set a spending limit on the account (weekly default set at $20) in the CommBank app.

The CommBank Youth app is free to download however your mobile network provider charges you for accessing data on your phone. The CommBank app is available on Android operating systems 4.0+ and iOS operating system 8.0+. Terms and conditions are available on the app. NetBank access with NetCode SMS is required.
