What is a credit card late payment fee?

Last updated 19 February 2018

A late payment fee is charged if you miss making your minimum payment, plus any overdue amount, by the statement due date. To avoid this fee, make sure your minimum payment is made on time each month.

There are a few ways to help you do this:

  • Keep track of your statement due date, this can be found on the top right hand corner of your statement, and on NetBank, at the top of your transaction history page
  • Set up AutoPay on your credit card account which will automatically pay the minimum amount, a set amount or your full closing balance
  • Or set up alerts to SMS or email you of the upcoming payment a few days before the statement due date.
