Will my Keycard or Debit Mastercard work overseas?

See all Travel & International FAQs

Last updated 27 June 2018

Keycards issued after June 11 2018 can no longer be used to make purchases at point of sale overseas. However, you'll still be able to withdraw funds from overseas ATMs, where Cirrus is accepted.

Debit Mastercard is accepted at more than 35 million locations worldwide. You can also use it to withdraw cash from any ATM that displays the Maestro, Mastercard or Cirrus logo.

If either cards are lost or stolen when you’re overseas you can:

  • Cancel and order replacement CommBank cards in NetBank or in the CommBank app
  • Call us 24/7 on +61 2 9999 3283.

Make sure you log on to NetBank or the CommBank app to tell us when and where you’re going. We can keep an eye out for any suspicious activity on your CommBank accounts and credit cards while you’re away.
