What is a Special Answer Fee?

This fee applies, and is payable immediately, if you are seeking to accelerate an answer or whether a cheque deposited into your account will be paid rather than wait for the usual (3 business days) clearance period. As clearance depends on processes adopted by the domicile bank of the drawer of the cheque there is no guarantee of an immediate answer.
Tips for managing your account
Start by taking a look at your transaction history and keep a personal record of your monthly banking habits and any account fees. Create a budget to identify and keep track of your spending requirements and whenever possible, consider self service banking by utilising NetBank and/or Phone banking.
To avoid paying this fee, ask the person giving you the cheque to transfer funds electronically into your account, which will speed the availability of funds.
