Webchat was launched on 5th March 2010 as a 60 day trial. Today, Webchat has become a permanent Commonwealth Bank and NetBank service offering online assistance to customers for products such as Home Loans, Personal Loans, Credit Cards, Term Deposits and Savings and Transaction accounts - during business Monday to Sunday 8:00am - 10:00pm.

A dialogue box that looks much like other chat windows such as those found in Instant Messenger will open up. A representative of the Bank will then introduce themselves and ask if you have any questions or enquiries that they can assist you with. You can also decline the invitation to chat at any time. In doing so, the chat window will disappear so you are able to continue browsing the CommBank website as you please.

The Webchat session is secured and encrypted to protect customer information. Nevertheless, you should never disclose account details such as account numbers or any of your passwords. If you accept the chat, our representative may ask for your full name, date of birth, phone number and email address as identification.

We can assist you with product information, calculators and guide you through our online applications. Please keep in mind, the representative is unable to see and conduct any maintenance on your accounts. You may be referred to another department for further assistance with these requests.
