Why didn’t the recipient receive the full amount I sent through an International money transfer?

When you send an International money transfer (IMT), the overseas banks may deduct a fee from the amount you transfer, which could result in the recipient receiving less than the amount you intend.

When sending your IMT, you can choose to pay an overseas bank fee to cover these deductions - this is in addition to the amount you want to send and ensures the recipient will receive the exact amount of your choice. Paying this fee is optional and available through a branch.  Please note this option is available for certain countries only.
