How do I set up a direct debit on my credit card?

Direct debit is an automated payment which comes from your credit card, and can be set up for a fixed or variable amount to a service provider you choose.

To set up a direct debit:

  • Decide on the bills you would like to have automatically paid
  • Call the relevant service provider (e.g. Energy Australia or Optus)
  • Tell them you would like to set up a Direct Debit, and give them your credit card number, expiry date and card verification code.

If you need to cancel a direct debit on your credit card, simply call your service provider. If you're having issues with your service provider, please call 13 2221 for further assistance.
