Type of transfer

How long it takes

Between CommBank Accounts

Transfers between your own accounts (including to your linked home and personal loans) and to most other CommBank accounts are instant.

First time payments to a new payee, including to or from your own business accounts, may be held up for up to 24 hours as a security measure.

To other financial institutions

Transfers to other Australian financial institutions are generally available in the recipient’s account within 1–2 business days when made before 6pm (Sydney / Melbourne time) on a business day. The account balance and available balance are updated immediately in NetBank.

International Money Transfers (IMT)

It usually takes 2–5 business days to process an IMT, but may take longer depending on the recipient’s country and bank.

Transfers made on a weekend, a public/bank holiday or after the currency cut-off time will be processed the following business day.
