Does my home insurance policy cover storm damage?

Yes. Storm (including a named cyclone) damage is covered by our home insurance as a standard Insured Event.

It’s important to understand though that you won’t be covered for loss or damage caused by storm within the first 48 hours of your policy commencing, unless:

  • You’re renewing or replacing an existing policy and there’s no break in cover
  • On the same day the policy commences you enter into a contract to buy the insured address or you move into it as a tenant
