Relationship Management
By applying for our Relationship Management stream you’ll be working in one of our relationship banking teams across either our Small Business, Commercial, Regional or Agribusiness Banking. These teams are the face of CommBank for our customers and manage relationships with all types of businesses, from small, middle-sized to larger corporates with turnover of up to $150M.
During your rotations, you’ll have the opportunity to develop a range of skills that’ll set your banking career up for success. This includes credit analysis, financial modelling and interpretation of customer’s financial information, delivering superior customer service by managing the end-to-end lending process, and supporting bankers to provide tailored integrated financial solutions. With roles in metro and regional locations, you can have a successful career in banking wherever you call home.
You can expect to successfully transition into a challenging role as an Analyst, kick starting your career as a future banker and leader in our business.
Product Development
Rotating through our Product Development stream, you’ll develop an understanding of banking products to match our customer needs, by rotating across our teams like Product Strategy, Risk Management, and Digital, as well as spend time in one of our frontline banking teams.
These teams are responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, as well as product and pricing management. By completing this stream, you can expect to successfully transition into a challenging role as a Product Analyst.
CommSec
By choosing the CommSec stream, you’ll get a behind the scenes look into how the CommSec apps, website, as well as our products and services enrich our customers’ share trading experience. You’ll dive into the world of trading through critical rotations in Product & Development, Digital Experience, Risk Management and Customer Engagement. You can expect to successfully transition into a challenging role as a CommSec Analyst across one of these teams.
Whichever stream you choose you’ll all come together as a broader cohort under Business Banking. Growing up on a large cropping and grazing farm in Orange, working in the country was a real no-brainer for me. It’s a place I know and love. When I go out for lunch and see people that I know it reminds me of that connection with the community.
A big part of my role is coaching customers and creating long-term strategies for them and their families. Over the past few years, my customers have faced tragic experiences – drought, bushfires, and the pandemic but coming out on the other side knowing that my customers’ businesses were ok is the ultimate form of success for me.
As an Agribusiness Executive for the Gippsland/ Regional Vic Area, I take care of farmers who look after everything from beef, broilers, orchards, dairy farming, and wineries. I’ve been in this role for more than a year, and I’m still learning so much every day because every customer journey is unique. And seeing their journey from end to end is one of the best parts of my role. I’m supported by my manager to get involved in events within the dairy industry so we’re not seen as just bankers, but a helping hand in the community.
My journey at CommBank has taken me all across the Business Bank, with some of my most memorable highlights being an Intern. There’s a focus on your development from day one, and since applying for the Internship Program five years ago, to being in a permanent role, I've continued to have opportunities to work on exciting and impactful projects. The key to this is showing interest and initiative to learn every day!
Outside of work, I’m a semi-pro netballer. Something I didn’t realise before joining the bank as an Intern was the flexibility I could have in my career. This allowed me to not only commit to my teammates in the workplace but on the netball courts as well.
