Global Markets Summer Analyst Program

Work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment of global financial markets. By joining one of our specialist Global Markets teams, you’ll discover how we create value for our clients with a wide range of responsibilities. From trading and sales activities in financial markets, to encompassing all foreign exchange, commodities, fixed income and interest rate products.

You’ll work on high profile projects where you’ll have influence. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of IB&M, benefiting from making live deals and trades while working with our clients.

Your rotations

During your 10-week program, you could be joining one of the following specialist teams:  

• CommBank IQ: Combining Australia’s largest pool of transaction data and the nation’s leading data science capability to deliver powerful insights to Australian businesses, governments and investors. You’ll work closely with our clients, utilising these insights to deliver on their needs.  
• Trading: Take your personal interest in trading a step further and utilise your strong mathematical skillset by joining specialised teams focused on foreign exchange, bonds, interest rates and fixed income and credit products in the broader financial markets.  
• Sales: Gain both direct and indirect client exposure working with specialised sales teams, delivering financial risk management solutions in foreign exchange, fixed income and interest rates to our corporate and institutional clients. 
• Digital Analytics & AI: You’ll be a part of a nimble team dedicated to advancing AI capabilities of the business, including enhancing client insights, scaling the lending business and advancing trading and sales functions.  
• Commodities, Trade & Carbon: You’ll be front and centre learning the fundamentals of the Australian economy. You’ll work with specialised teams focused on the sales and trading across the full spectrum of commodities including agriculture, energy and metals.  
• Global Markets Chief Operating Office: Gain exposure to all areas of the division. You'll work on projects, investment portfolio, change and business management for the entire Global Markets business. 

Your development & experience

You'll experience a dynamic work environment and gain exposure to a number teams across Global Markets through dedicated learning sessions, shadowing senior leaders, trading simulation games and much more. Alongside extensive training and networking opportunities, you’ll also be supported by a buddy and dedicated program manager to ensure your success throughout the program.

For some teams, tech skills such as programming will be advantageous however not mandatory. Diversity of thought reigns supreme in our Global Markets teams, and you’ll be united by the shared passion for working within global financial markets.
