Global Markets Summer Analyst Program

Your rotations

During your 10-week program, you could be joining one of the following specialist teams:  

• Quantitative Solutions: Utilise your strong mathematical skillset while working alongside our sales and trading teams, focusing on pricing, risk and financial analytics.
• Global Markets Economics Research: Apply your interest and knowledge of economics to help our clients understand and predict markets.   
• CommBank IQ: Combining Australia’s largest pool of transaction data and the nation’s leading data science capability to deliver powerful insights to Australian businesses, governments and investors. You’ll work closely with our clients, utilising these insights to deliver on their needs.  
• Trading: Take your personal interest in trading a step further by joining specialised teams focused on foreign exchange, bonds, interest rates and fixed income and credit products in the broader financial markets.  
• Sales: Gain both direct and indirect client exposure working with specialised sales teams, delivering financial risk management solutions in foreign exchange, fixed income and interest rates to our corporate and institutional clients. 
• Systematic Financing & Systematic Markets: You’ll be a part of a nimble team who automate and digitise processes, leverage data analytics and build creative solutions in order to solve our customers’ most complex financial problems.  
• Commodities, Trade & Carbon: You’ll be front and centre learning the fundamentals of the Australian economy. You’ll work with specialised teams focused on the sales and trading across the full spectrum of commodities including agriculture, energy and metals.  
• Global Markets Chief Operating Office: Gain exposure to all areas of the division. You'll work on projects, investment portfolio, change and business management for the entire Global Markets business. 

Your development & experience

You'll experience a dynamic work environment and gain exposure to a number teams across GM through dedicated learning sessions, shadowing senior leaders, trading simulation games and much more. Alongside extensive training and networking opportunities, you’ll also be supported by a buddy and dedicated program manager to ensure your success throughout the program.  

You’re a high-achieving individual who is outcome-driven, proactive, ambitious and insightful. You have a risk mindset and capabilities that are highly transferrable into your day-to-day work. You’re adaptable and thrive in ever changing environments.

For some teams, tech skills such as programming will be advantageous however not mandatory. Diversity of thought reigns supreme in our GM teams, and you’ll be united by the shared passion for working with global financial markets.
