Keaan Mason

Keaan - Customer Outcomes Manager

“I was born in Perth but lived most of my life around Karratha and in Queensland. After going to a few events at CommBank as part of my CareerTrackers internship, I applied for the Graduate Program and moved to Sydney. It has been such a great opportunity and I’ve had so much support along the way. There are so many communities here to be a part of. While I’m here I want to be in a position to inspire change, both inside and outside the bank.”

Lucy Brereton

Lucy - Project Manager

“The biggest surprise for me since starting at CommBank has been how much I enjoy working in the finance industry – I’m terrible at maths! It’s also been great to see the huge increase of our non-Indigenous staff wanting to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. So many of our people are reaching out to ask about engagement opportunities, or how to get involved in community. I think this will only continue to grow”

Joel – Senior Manager Optimisation & Delivery

“As an ex-Olympian and proud Bundjalung man, I’ve always valued a workplace that is inclusive and flexible. I first joined the CommBank Group because of its focus on these two areas, and it’s part of the reason why I returned to the Bank. I’ve found you aren’t pigeonholed here, I started in Credit Risk and now I am bringing our teams and their technology together across CommBank and Bankwest Collections as an Optimisation & Delivery Senior Manager.”

Abbey – Business Banking Account Manager

“My journey at CommBank has taken me all across the Business Bank, with some of my most memorable highlights being an Intern. There’s a focus on your development from day one, and since applying for the Internship Program five years ago, to being in a permanent role, I've continued to have opportunities to work on exciting and impactful projects. The key to this is showing interest and initiative to learn every day!

Outside of work, I’m a semi-pro netballer. Something I didn’t realise before joining the bank as an Intern was the flexibility I could have in my career. This allowed me to not only commit to my teammates in the workplace but on the netball courts as well.”

Use of Aboriginal artwork

Co-created by Kuku Yalanji and Woopaburra artist Leona McGrath, Indigenous organisation Yerrabingin, CommBank’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous employees, and members of the community, the creative design visually expresses our refreshed brand and values.

The artwork is designed to symbolise the Bank’s respect for and celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The design conveys three central themes: Community, Connections and Wellbeing, and pairs some of the CommBank colours with traditional Aboriginal designs to create an artwork and narrative that will conjure connectedness and pride with our customers, communities and our people.

Artist Leona McGrath is a proud Aboriginal woman who is originally from Queensland from the Woopaburra People of Great Keppel Island and Kuku Yalanji People of Far North Queensland, and has been painting for over 30 years.
