Here's how the application process works. 

What you'll need

  • A business trading name registered with ASIC
  • To apply for this product online, you must have a CommBank Business Transaction Account5. If you’d like to settle into a different settlement account please call 1800 230 177.

Your website requirements

Your website must clearly display:

  • Terms and conditions
  • Privacy policy
  • Refunds Policy, Dispatch & Deliveries Policy if you sell goods
  • Images of the goods or services
  • Current contact details, including phone number, email address and trading address in Australia
  • You must also make sure your Australian business trading name matches the primary name you use on your website

Have these details handy

  • Business contact information, including phone and email
  • Australian Business Number (ABN), business structure and registered address
  • Financial information, including yearly turnover, average transaction value, start date
  • Details of every director, partner or trustee depending on your business structure. This includes birth date, residency and occupation information

3 CommBank Simplify Controls enables users to customise their fraud setting via setting fraud rules, reviewing payments and receiving smart alerts enabling you to control, prevent and monitor transactions in real time including transaction size, country of origin and repeat transactions.

4 EMV 3D Secure is only available for Simplify Hosted Payments or eInvoicing features. It is not available for merchants using API functionality.

5 A  Business Transaction Account is required to settle your transactions to, if you apply online via NetBank. You can choose to settle your transactions to an alternate account held with us or another financial service provider by calling our Merchant Sales team, or at any time after your application is finalised on 1800 230 177. 7 This is our standard pricing offer. For a full list of applicable fees and charges, refer to our Merchant AgreementFinancial Services Guide and our Letter of Offer issued once the merchant facility has been approved.

8 International card scheme fees are applicable when you process transactions on overseas credit cards: 0.88% per Visa transaction and 0.44% per Mastercard transaction. When you process a refund, you will get a percentage credited back: 0.28% per Visa card refund and 0.32% per Mastercard refund. For example if you refunded a $100 transaction on a Visa card, you would get $0.28 credit, which is 0.28% of your $100 transaction.
