How to receive a payment with PayID

  • Simply provide customers with your PayID. If they're with a participating bank, they can log on to their mobile or internet banking and make a PayID payment. Their bank will securely transfer the money into your account, usually in less than a minute.

Once you've set up your PayID, let your customers know it's available by adding a PayID logo to your website or invoices.

Protection for unauthorised transactions

We’ll protect you from losses due to unauthorised transactions on personal and business accounts when you take the necessary steps to stay safe online.

To close, transfer, lock/unlock or change the linked account or the name of your PayID:

  • Log on to NetBank, go to Settings, then from Payment Settings, select PayID. Click Expand next to the PayID you would like to update.
  • If you've registered with an ABN/ACN, complete the maintenance section of the PayID Registration & Maintenance form.

A single PayID, such as your mobile number, can only be registered to one account. An alternative PayID, such as an email address or ABN, can be registered to another account.

A PayID can only be used to pay money into your account - never to take money out. Your actual account details are never visible during the payment process.

Yes. To send payments to someone else, they just need to provide you with their PayID. Learn more about sending money through PayID.

  • This advice has been prepared without considering your objectives, financial situation or needs. Because of that, you should, before acting on this advice, consider its appropriateness to your circumstances. You can view the Terms and Conditions for CommBank PayID, our Financial Services Guide (PDF) and the Electronic Banking Terms and Conditions (PDF) and should consider them before making any decision about these products and services. 1 For security reasons, a hold may apply on first time payments. The delay allows fraud security checks to take place and gives you time to alert us to unauthorised or suspicious activity on your account. Subsequent payments should be received in under a minute.

To prevent fraud we can only allow you to register the primary mobile number already linked to your CommBank customer profile. If you'd like to use a different mobile number or need to update your details please call 13 2221.

3 The CommBank app is free to download, however your mobile network provider charges you for accessing data on your phone. Terms and conditions are available on the app. NetBank access with NetCode SMS is required. Find out about the minimum operating system requirements on the CommBank app page
