Using your Travel Money Card

Making purchases

Simply use the card like you would a credit card, even at an ATM. Select ‘credit’, and enter your PIN or sign the receipt. You can use the card wherever MasterCard® is accepted.

Reloading your card is free, quick and easy

  • Log on to NetBank for real-time reloads when you transfer from selected CommBank accounts to your Travel Money Card
  • Use BPAY® - enter the BPAY® Biller Code 113167, then enter your customer reference number which is your 16-digit Travel Money Card number. Funds loaded via BPAY may take two to three days to appear on your card
  • Transfer from selected CommBank accounts, in branch, or by calling the Travel Money Customer Service Centre on: 1300 660 700 in Australia (local call); or (+61) 2 9374 0609 outside Australia (call charges apply).

Remember, if you use NetBank with NetCode SMS security you'll need your mobile handy the first time you reload your card via BPAY. To easily reload when oversea’s, reload your card before you travel or make sure you'll have global roaming activated while you're overseas to receive the NetCode SMS. If you're not taking your phone overseas, register for a NetCode token so you can still transfer funds online.

The minimum reload per currency is just AUD1 or the foreign currency equivalent. The maximum reload per card is AUD 100,000 or the foreign currency equivalent. The maximum balance you can have on your card at any one time is AUD 100,000 or the foreign currency equivalent.

Choosing currencies

You can load up to 13 currencies on your card. If you have more than one currency on your card, a default currency order applies. Learn more about multiple currencies.

If you are reloading via BPAY, the reload amount will go to the first currency in the order of currencies on your card. You can change the order of the currencies on your card by logging on to NetBank.

You can only reload one currency via BPAY at the one time. If you would like to reload more than one currency, wait until your first BPAY payment has been processed and then log on to NetBank to move the next currency to the highest in your currency order. You can then make another BPAY payment.

Managing your Card

You can easily manage your Travel Money Card, including balance enquiries, transaction history, changing your PINs and more, by logging on to NetBank.

For help and support on how to manage your card download our how to guide.

SMS alerts

By providing us with your mobile phone number, you can receive SMS confirmation that your card has been loaded and/or notification of your monthly, weekly, daily or low balance (as specified by you). This lets you monitor your Travel Money Card balance.

Back-up card

For your convenience, we issue you with two cards – a primary card and a back-up card. They have different card numbers and separate PINs. Both cards should only be used by you and not by another person.

You can use your back-up card if you can’t use your primary card (e.g. if it’s damaged, lost or stolen). Both cards have the same value and can be used interchangeably.

As soon as you receive your cards you must sign both the primary card and back-up card.

Lost or stolen cards

Please notify us immediately if your card(s) are lost or stolen:

Within Australia: 1300 660 700 (local call). Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Outside Australia: (+61) 2 9374 0609 (call charges apply) or (+61) 2 9999 3283* (reversed charges accepted). Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We will suspend the primary card (or back-up card) to prevent further use.
