A SMSF can have up to four members, who are all trustees. Anyone over 18 can be a trustee of a super fund, as long as they are not under a legal disability (such as being bankrupt or having a mental impairment) and are not a disqualified person (such as someone who has been convicted of a crime involving dishonesty). A parent or guardian can be a trustee for someone who is under 18.
