How can I contribute to my SMSF?

See all Superannuation FAQs

Last updated 15 April 2014

You can make the same kinds of contributions to a SMSF as you would to an industry or retail super fund, including rollovers and transfers from other super funds; superannuation guarantee contributions from your employer; spouse contributions; and extra contributions, such as salary sacrifice contributions and voluntary after-tax contributions. Before making any extra contributions, it's important to understand the government's contribution caps and the tax implications of going beyond them, so consult your accountant or tax adviser.
