Business Banking manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s business banking customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions across all businesses. We also service our personal and institutional online trading customers.

Business Banking has a number of specialised and diverse areas:

Small Business & Corporate Banking is the relationship-focused arm of Business Banking division within Commonwealth Bank. We connect and partner with businesses to grow, improve and safeguard their financial wellbeing. Our segment spans the nation’s most innovative, dynamic, specialist and diverse sectors – everything from start-ups to mature companies. We manage relationships with all types of businesses, from small and middle-sized all the way up to larger corporates turning over up to $500 million.

Product, Governance & Customer Solutions

  • The Strategy & Transformation area develops and executes the most complex and strategically important elements of Business Banking’s  growth strategy, and scopes, designs and creates new solutions to business-critical problems.
  • Business Customer Solutions supports the full spectrum of customers’ needs, from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates. We have accountability for Cash Management, Payments, Business Lending and Commerce Solutions, as well as delivering analytical capabilities to support our business customers. Our team is also accountable for managing the end-to-end business customer experience aligned to achieve our advocacy ambition.

Risk (Controls Office) enables effective management of non-financial risks, to support Business Banking’s strategy. Our purpose is to identify and manage risk by implementing effective controls to achieve the right outcomes for our Business Banking customers and our division. 

Regional and Agribusiness Banking (RAB) is the face of the business bank outside of major capital cities. All face-to-face commercial banking relationships outside of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide are managed by RAB, as well as all agribusiness relationships.

Our programs

Graduate Recruitment Program

This uniquely structured 18-month program includes four rotations that will allow you to either specialise or experience vastly different areas within the Business Banking teams. Through these rotations you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the Business Banking division and have direct exposure to clients. You’ll also develop technical skills, analytical sales and/or relationship-building capabilities. Some rotations may include state-based travel.

Summer Intern Program

This 10-week program offers exposure across our diverse business as you work in your elected specialist area. You’ll receive training and networking opportunities, be supported by a buddy and have the chance to contribute meaningfully to our business.

We are a national business, with opportunities in many states. Please check all of our graduate opportunities for the specific locations we’re recruiting in for each program. You may also be required to work in other locations within the same state as part of your rotations.
