Candidates for job roles at the Commonwealth Bank can now receive Short Message Service (SMS) updates via mobile phone alerting them to their job application status or interview times as part of a Bank-wide plan to harness innovative technology in the recruitment process.
SMS alerts are just one of a number of recruitment initiatives the Bank has launched to improve communication between the Bank and candidates for job roles.
According to Terry Mason, Executive General Manager - Talent and Development, the Bank is committed to be a leader in talent management.
“In order to realise our strategic vision to be Australia’s finest financial services institution through excelling in customer service, we need to continue to attract and retain the best available people.”
Applicants will be able to check the status of their application, select and book interview times if short listed, and update their profile and resume as required.
“A key benefit for the Bank is that we can maintain a talent pool of great candidates and fill vacant positions more efficiently,” said Mr Mason.
“By developing innovative recruitment strategies and technologies, the Bank will be well poised to take advantage of a competitive employment environment,” he added.
Mr Mason said all job candidates for permanent positions, whether full time or part time, can register their interest in working for the Bank or apply for specific roles and receive job alerts when a suitable role becomes available.
“This initiative will provide immediate benefits to candidates and hiring managers. Furthermore, searching for available roles on the internet and intranet will be simpler for internal and external applicants.”
